You are very welcome to the OLIPTA website and we very much hope
that, having browsed the site you will decide that there is possibly
some small way in which you can show your support of the PTA either
with a few hours of your time or simply by coming along and attending
one of the many events organised throughout the school year.
A PTA serves 2 purposes. Not only does it help to finance some
of the additional needs of the school it serves but it also provides
a social scene for the parents of the children, the teaching staff
and the friends of Our Lady Immaculate School, Church and Parish.
No-one would dispute the fact that a school PTA that works together
with the Community in general can reap great rewards, not only
in terms of financial support from local business but it can also,
and more importantly, create a positive energy and drive that
makes the whole process of fund raising that much more enjoyable.
We all recognise the importance of a good Primary education but
it comes at a cost these days. Here at OLIPTA, we have a thriving
association which, over the last 6 academic years, has raised
a staggering total of more than
£103,500
Some of the projects that we have been able to assist the school
with are :
£20,000 towards the cost of the astro turf pitch;
£18,000 towards the refurbishment of the Early Years Unit;
£10,000 towards a new school library plus
£3,600 towards new benching and shading for the playground;
£12,500 towards Interactive White Boards for each classroom
plus
£6,000 towards the extension of the Year 1 classrooms;
£10,000 towards the mobile ICT suite plus
£5,000 towards developing a low level playground with shading
for KS2 and,
in the last academic year......
£10,000 towards the refurbishment
of the School Reception Area & Administration Offices
plus
£5,000 towards a wireless
sound system for use in the Class Assemblies and Key Stage Productions
which our children present to us in the Hall and Church throughout
the school year
Our Primary project, as suggested by our Headteacher, during the
coming academic year will be an amount towards
Blackouts and Blinds for the
refurbished
School Hall
This will provide the finishing touches to the refurbished
Catholic Hall used by both the School and Parish Community.
The funding for this will be raised through this year's Christmas
Bazaar.
Our Secondary project, will be an amount towards
Permanent playground shading
Finally, all parents of pupils in the school are automatically
members of the PTA. How involved you wish to be with fund raising
is very much down to the individual but we do hope that once you
have found out more about our work, you will see that there is
an important role for you to play.
A summary of all PTA minutes is circulated via pupil post and
includes a list of those PTA members who play a vital role in
our fund raising efforts.
If you would like to know more, please contact us through the
school office. Alternatively, we are available both before and
after school.
Many thanks for your continuing support,
OLIPTA Committee
